The Griffin Centre - A sensory Support Service, Orpington, 2009
This was a major commission to create an 18 metre sensory mosaic mural for the Griffin Centre, which was not even built when I first discussed the project! The centre is situated between Darrick Wood Infant School and Darrick Wood Junior School. Di Blackmore, Director of the Centre and commissioner of the artwork, wanted the Griffin Centre to be as integrated as possible to the schools.
Many people were involved in this delightful project: children from all the years at Darrick Wood Primary School and Darrick Wood Junior School, staff, parents, carers and a surgeon!
It was a lovely project to work on.
